Finance Director - Financial Planning, Modeling & Analytics

We are looking for:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Director will be a key member of the leadership team responsible for developing and maintaining a strong financial planning, forecasting and analytics environment. The leader will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining financial models and metrics to assist in forecasting, reporting, and planning. The Director will combine excellent analytical skills and systems expertise with a thorough knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts to prepare and analyze internal management reports, dashboards and forecasts.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Develop, manage, and enhance financial data models including correlation analysis of financial metrics to provide best-in-class, transparent and accurate forecasting for sales, salesforce compensation and overall performance sensitivities and scenarios
• Ability to process large amounts of data to identify key drivers and develop robust models for various types of analysis and communicate effectively to non-financial and non-technical stakeholders
• Detail oriented and inquisitive approach entailing a strong desire to understand how our business works to build viable data models
• Identifying and qualifying complex data sources and cleansing these data sets for use in required data models
• Incorporating automation to connect multiple data sources and account for anomalies where required to simplify how we are feeding data models
• Perform root cause analysis and interpret data and analyze using various techniques to identify anomalies and suggest solutions
• Exercise thought leadership providing strategic direction for the ongoing data models, data engineering and process efficiencies
• Develop forecasting and planning models in support of rolling forecast and annual planning/budgeting processes
• Performs other projects as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Deep expertise in navigating complex ERP data sets and creation of consumable data output (NetSuite experience desired)
• Strong data skills (SQL, Access, Python, R, Data Cleansing Software)
• Highly advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Hands-on experience with financial reporting and planning tools (e.g. Tableau)
• Experience with root cause analysis techniques
• Strong understanding of general business processes (revenue, cost, cash flow) and product planning and forecasting principles (standard cost, volume, freight & duty)
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to train, teach, or coach business professionals
• Self-motivated to operate in an independent and collaborative environment
• Results-oriented individual
• Insatiable curiosity to explore nontraditional methods of arriving at forecast outputs
• Unquestionable ethics, character, and integrity

• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance & accounting principles, laws and best practices.

Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Finance, Business Analytics or related field
• Minimum of 10 years in areas of increasing responsibility in a finance function
• Strong understanding of an inventory distribution model, including inventory costs and sales commission structures

Travel
• Anticipated travel required for this position is minimal.
